'Our aim is to make ayurveda an inherent part of the medical systems.'

The majority of diseases are caused by unhealthy lifestyle, stress, and environmental factors. This suggests that we look into how we can effectively modify these key elements that create disease.

The International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation for health professionals promotes the most effective approaches that enable people to permanently change their behaviour towards a more health promoting life style. This involves the management of all aspects of life – the body, mind, and environment.

As a cardiologist I have been spending my time opening blocked coronary arteries, which basically is a patchwork approach until the next artery has to be fixed. Experience shows that changing a person’s lifestyle is one of the most difficult endeavours. The strength of Maharishi AyurVeda is to intervene before the disease arises, using consciousness-based approaches to reconnect the intellect with the inherent intelligence of the self, one’s own consciousness. This helps the individual to behave and act with the support of Nature’s perfection, making lifestyle changes easier and more spontaneous. The change comes from inside as we become more aligned with the inner intelligence of the self. Medicine alone is too superficial to influence the innumerable values that constitute the complexity of life and its evolution.

I am confident that Maharishi AyurVeda will play a key role in creating good health globally, bringing relief to the growing number of suffering individuals, and reversing the increasing financial burden of the present health care system.

I cordially invite you to become an affiliate or supporter of the International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation and benefit from our courses, research activities, and our growing interface with governmental institutions, medical associations, health insurers, and health care providers.
